Story: Tensions flare over Texas school dress code
Who would have thought parents would be against the idea of their children being forced to wear prison-like jumpsuits for violating dress code? They had to call the police because the school could not control this meeting. We originally thought this crazy idea would only last a couple days into the school year, but it turns out it might not even make it to day one. Hopefully this is a wake up call and we stop allowing idiots to create policies that affect thousands of parents and children in the community.

I am a parent that was @ this meeting and I personally think that the dress code, jumpsuits and our school board are all ridiculous!!! I have 2 children and NEVER have they violated dress code or any other rules for that matter. I DON'T allow it! Now, my children are being punished because 1. Som parents are not "Parenting". 2. The children of those parents know this. 3. The schools have let them get away with it this long... so now they feel entitled to act this way! There is only a small percent of students who do not follow dress code at all, why are all students being punished? It is not right!!! I am not one to disrespect nor do I teach my kids to do so, but they will not be treated this way b/c certain parents, students and staff at our schools are not making good decisions.
Thank you for the input. Please keep us updated about how this story unfolds.
Generally speaking, affect is a verb and effect is a noun. When you affect something, you produce an effect on it. Even in the passive voice, something would be affected, not effected.
that's public education for you!
Ha Ha! Someone is actually taking the time to correct grammar. That is funny! Guess it proves the point that schools should be more worried about children learning and not focus so much on what they are wearing. As long as there pants are pulled up, no flashing of body parts, piercings, underwear and they aren't wearing t shirts with inappropriate things on them, what is the big deal?! I know I personally learn better when I am comfortable... poor kids. (Let me know if I have any typo's)
