Minn. teen charged with offering his vote on eBay

Story: Minn. teen charged with offering his vote on eBay

Had he only done a little research he would have found out that a state law was passed in 1893 forbidding this behavior. But who didn't already know that? The student was under the impression that since we have the right to vote, we ought to have the right to do what we want with that vote. Unfortunately we can't quite exercise our freedom to it's full extent.

The max penalty is 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine. This was one hell of an ebay prank.

America.... Land of the FREE !!!!!

Happy Independence Day !!!!!!!!

I think the joke will be on Minnesota and all that decide to continue to cause this young man undue grief.

Maybe if some money was spent wisely, we wouldn't have bridges collapsing, schools being closed, and a HUGE illegal immigrant problem.

Isn't it in Minnesota where they are switching to 4-day school weeks?

All the little laws that make it illegal to sell or buy a vote and the like add up to ensure a more free society. (Note: not "free" but "more free").

Don't you love the hypocracy? being prosecuted by a government saturated with 'vote sellers". At least he wasn't trying to sell your children crack! What a waste of taxpayers money! hmm...Wonder if the candidates contemplated a bid?
