Story: Girl's Hair Cut by School Bully
I guess we're still not teaching tolerance in some schools yet. Yes, the girl was punished, but she most likely would have gotten the same consequences had she cut anyones hair. Get ready for rallies, because they're on their way. And rightfully so because the story doesn't mention that attacks like this have been going on at this school since Sept. 11, 2001.

Oh my goodness! This is much more significant than just some bully beating someone up!
I wouldnt go so far to say that this is a hate crime, Im sure the student (assuming they are roughly the same age) doesnt have a deep understanding of racial intolerance. I believe that this could be a reflection of the child's surroundings, and that is worrisome.
I think this act is a result of the indifference that is too often seen when teaching kids how to interact with minorities. In many scenarios I believe that differences are not celebrated; rather, kids are taught merely just not to stare or not to say mean things. Good in the interim, but not the kind of world we want to create.
